Ever since Disneyland opened its doors in July of 1955, the theme park has delighted generations of guests looking for some Disney magic. To celebrate its landmark 60th anniversary, the park is holding grand Diamond Celebration.
The park is kicking things off with a 24-hour event that will include three new nighttime spectaculars. Disneyland Park will host both the “Paint the Night” parade and the “Disneyland Forever” fireworks show, and Disney California Adventure Park will premiere the new “World of Color — Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney.” In true Disney fashion, this event is only the beginning — more magical events and celebrations will take place at both Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif. and at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.
Get in the Disney spirit with a look back through the park’s history. From its conception to current day, take a walk down Main Street U.S.A. and see how Walt Disney’s original vision for a family-friendly Disney theme park has evolved over the decades.
