The concept of hope runs through the latest “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” trailer. It’s a trailer for underdogs, for people banding together against a seemingly insurmountable force. It’s a time for rallying speeches and coming together with our heroine Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) at the center of a growing rebellion against the evil forces of the Empire.
The trailer packs a lot of details into its under-three-minute running time. We delve into Jyn’s past, issues with her Death Star-building father (Mads Mikkelsen) and the origin of the “Rogue One” name. It turns out that “Rogue One” is an off-the-cuff stab at a cool call sign.
