With the UK internet economy already worth over £120 billion annually, and digital job growth set to outperform all other sectors by 2020, Baroness Shields, the PM’s digital advisor launched HQ-UK yesterday to encourage US tech firms to set up camp in the country.
The HQ-UK is a joint initiative between the UK Trade and Investment, Tech City UK, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. It aims to ease UK expansion for US tech companies by offering advice on various red-tape issues.
